Snowmen At Night
It is amazing to see the changes when students come back in January! They are really becoming learners! It is so nice to see the growth when I benchmark students.
We have been working on snowmen and snow fun! One of my co-teachers did this cute fine motor project. She read the book Snowmen At Night. The student tore paper to make a snowman, cut out triangles for a nose and completed a clozed sentence. It came out really cute!!!

Only 5 more days before the winter break. I am trying to plan my lessons for the first few weeks in January so I can be on top of things in the new year....wonder how long that will last!
Last week I made a Write the Room sight word game for my students. It was holiday themed and part of my ELF unit on TPT. My students loved it so much that I thought I would make another.
We start off January with our thematic SNOW unit. I have changed some of the sight words in the game.
First, I copy and laminate two sets of the game. One set of cards I hang around the room. The other set of cards are scattered on the table face down. The student will pick a card and read the word. Next, they find the matching picture with the boxes and use magnetic letters to build the word. After they have built all 8 words, they can walk around the room with the clipboard and find the sight words. They must write the words and bring them back to me for a final reading.
I hope your students enjoy this game...Click Here... to get a copy!

Is life every normal? Sorry it has been a few weeks since I last posted anything new. My students are working on sight words so I made this beginning literacy book for them to read. We have been focusing on The Gingerbread Man. I hope you can use this reader with your students... click here!
I printed the book and then cut them down to a smaller size with the paper cutter. I wanted the text to be big enough... just couldn't figure out another way.
I am hoping to post a couple of cute elf lessons- Write the Room and Ten Frame Memory on TPT so go to my page and check them out.

Book Art
OK.. It has been a while since I have blogged. I have been SUPER busy with 5 days of professional development, leaving sub plans, Halloween, a hurricane and LIFE! I really haven't created anything new.. just enjoying lesson spending money on Teachers Pay Teachers.
I did create something exciting for more boring walls and electrical covers- BOOK ART! I went to Michael's and bought a package of "t-shirt" frames...3 for $9.99. I took some 12 x12 blue scrap book paper and used it as a mat. Then, I picked some of my favorite books(The Giving Tree, Thank You, Mr. Falker, Chicka, Chicka Boom Boom, There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly, The Relatives Came and Good Night Gorilla) and framed them. I love my new wall art!

Fall Smartboard Fun!
Happy Fall! The leaves look so beautiful and the little squirrels are getting ready for a long winter in upstate NY. My children have been practicing number identification, one- to - one correspondence and writing numbers to seven with this fun Sammy Squirrel Smart Board lesson. Hope your students enjoy Sammy the Squirrel too!
